On Sunday September 8, I was able to preach at Himaya Maranatha Baptist Church in Bacolod City and enjoy a lunch fellowship afterward. It was my first time to this local church and I found a wonderful body of believers who love the Word and are interested in reaching their immediate community for Jesus Christ. Pastor Rutor has developed a committed core of people over the last 5 years. It was especially exciting to see many youth being reached through the church ministries. Bacolod has a number of smaller congregations like this (25-50) being pastored by faithful men and attended by committed followers of Jesus (most walk to church rain or shine). Pastor Rutor is also one of our students at Haven of Grace Seminary. What a joy to have fellowship with him and his family and to hear how God is continuing to grow him personally and ministerially through our school. This is the very kind of goal and impact we envisioned at Haven of Grace Seminary--training national pastors who become more able ministers of the Word and in return have greater impact in their local churches which in return impacts local communities with the gospel. If you would like to support Pastor Rutor in his training, or another Haven of Grace Seminary student, you can donate through this website and designate it for Haven of Grace Seminary.
