The last week of January, I was able to visit Hinoba-an, a remote community at the southern tip of Negros island about 5-6 hours south of Bacolod. Some pastors from this area attended the Maranatha Missions Conference in Bacolod December of 2019 and heard Dr. Tim Valiante speak. Their interest in Haven of Grace Seminary was piqued and a conversation was initiated about the opportunity for training. Upon further discussion with Dr. Valiante, it was decided I would take a survey trip to investigate the possibility of such a venture. I spent 4 days in Hinoba-an and found a significant group of thriving, unified churches and a number of faithful pastors. On day 2 of my visit, we met for several hours discussing the possibility of a seminary satellite campus in Hinoba-an and enjoying a delicious Filipino meal. Clearly, these men have the interest and passion for further training and it was decided that Haven of Grace Seminary will open a satellite campus here in July of 2020. I am thrilled that we can offer seminary classes to these men as they desire to be effective interpreters and communicators of God's Word. There are many pastors here reaching into the mountains and remote villages with the gospel and it is exciting for Haven of Grace to be expanding into this area for the sake of the gospel. We are hoping for 15-20 pastors to join us for classes starting in July. If you would like to support one of these pastors for training you can donate to Haven of Grace Seminary through the website.
